A map about layers, direction, flow and vulcanoes. This relates to humans too, with all our layers, highs and lows, the fire deep inside us and the constant flow of change (sometimes abrupt and sometimes slow). We really are part of mother earth. In the middle you see a figure holding themselves, looking for comfort and protection from everything outside themselves. I am working on a serie with this figure, this is the first finished piece, named ‘Het bouwplan van de aardkorst’ which translates to ‘The building plan of the earth's crust’.
